Long Overdue Update = Very Long Blog

3 MONTHS

Cohen is now 3 months (almost four months now, we just haven't blogged for a long time) and is getting so big! He weighs 14.1 pounds and is smiling all of the time. He has been sleeping through the night since 11 weeks and usually takes a long afternoon nap. He is holding up his head really well and always wants to be sitting or "standing" now. He loves to suck on anything, especially his hands, and will continue to suck in his sleep when nothings in his mouth. Brad tells me I'm crazy but I think he's teething. :)

CU VS. CSU

A couple Saturdays ago we went to the CU vs. CSU game at Invesco. It was a very warm day but we had a great time. We even ran into cousin Mike! Here's a couple of pictures from our fun day.

OUR HOUSE

We closed on our house on August 20 and started moving in that night already. Its been four weeks already and it is finally starting to feel like home. There are no more boxes in any of the rooms and at least everything has a spot for now. We finally got some pictures put up last weekend. We are slowly starting to decorate and we will need to paint a couple of rooms but we are loving our house. We just got Cohen's crib yesterday (his Uncle Wes made him an awesome crib!) so last night was Cohen's first time in his crib! I didn't sleep great last night since Cohen was sooo far away! Okay, so he was only a room over but it felt like he was so far away since he has been in our room since he was born. He's just getting so big so fast. :) Here's a couple of pictures of our moving and progress on our home.

Moving Day!

Cohen slept in his bouncy seat and swing pretty much
all of moving day...it hard work for him!
Brad mowing his first lawn! (This was moving
day too...he just couldn't wait.)
Sue helping in the kitchen. She was such a huge help,
we couldn't have finished it without her.

Another Birthday...
Oh, I turned another year older last week as well. I am about ready to start counting down in birthdays instead. :) We celebrated with the Jansen family on Sunday night and went out for dinner at Hacienda with Keith and Shannon on my birthday. It is so wonderful to have family around.

Changes...A lot of Changes

It has been a crazy two months. Two months ago today Cohen Mark joined our family. Brad got offered a job in Colorado, Brad accepted the job. Uncle Keith and Aunt Shannon came for a visit. Cohen was baptized (the video will come later as it's packed away who knows where.) We moved to Colorado (with the help of Brad's brothers Mark and Wes...thank you so very much you guys!) We found a house and are currently in the process of buying it. It would seem that we have gone through about as many life changes as possible. I guess that is how Brad and I do things though since we got married, went on our honeymoon, moved cross country to California, and started new jobs three years ago. Even though life has been a little crazy we are happy to be in Colorado and feel that this is where we belong and where God has called us to be at this time. All of this fell into place so quickly and smoothly making us realize that it was not in our hands. Even though it was very difficult to say goodbye to brother Kurt and some wonderful friends we made in California and tears were shed as we drove away (mostly on my part:) we are looking forward to seeing all that God has planned for us here in Colorado.

The Spider Hunter

SO last night at 2:30 I awoke to feed Cohen. We were going to try a bottle to Jayne could sleep. I went to put him on the guest bed to get him ready to be changed, and in the dark and saw a huge spider run across the bed right under Cohen. I quick moved Cohen and changed him and got some Kleenex to smunch the thing. I wussed out and it ran under some bags on the bed. I then found the thing and tried to spray it because well I was scared and needed my mom to kill it (a past occasion that happened many of times). Well i sprayed and it ran under the bed. With Keith and Shannon coming into town tomorrow, i needed to find this stupid thing thinking it was in the sheets or something. I didn't find it and well now the sheets are washed....and taken of the bed.
Finally I find it on the wall, I run to get a towel to kill the punk and what do you know. He's gone. Dang!
Now the bed is ripped apart all sheets are off the mattress is off and I can't find the dumb thing. Mean while Jayne is up feeding Cohen when she was supposed to be sleeping bc I am being Steve Irwin finding the beut. Finally I look in the wheel of the bed frame and I see 2 legs sticking out! Got him. Hair spray in hand I aim and shoot! out he comes. I grunt close my eyes and SMUNCH!
I got him. this only lasted and hour and 15 minutes.

1 month- and a move!

Cohen turned 1 month on sunday! Crazy to think he's already there. We are so lucky to have a sleepy, growing, poopy little stud!

We will also be moving back to Colorado! I was offered job at Arapahoe HS teaching PE and coaching Football and Girls Basketball. Its been a crazy whirl wind 3 weeks, but we are so excited to be back in CO and by family. We will miss Calvin and our friends here dearly, but know God has a plan and opens doors for reasons. We can't wait to start this chapter in our life!
