A Half!

I was thinking the other day how it is so funny that when you are little and you are asked how old you are you will always try and be a little older. You might say I'm four AND A HALF! Then as you get older you'd rather not say the half or even get older at all. Well we are celebrating that Cohen is A HALF!! We can't believe how big he is getting and that he is six months old already. He is getting so active and is ready to be on the move. I don't know how it's possible but it seems like we love him more every day and he gets more fun every day.

We had his six month checkup yesterday and the doctor said he is an all star....he's great! She told us to start baby proofing our house because he is going to be an active little guy and get into everything, so that's on my list of things to do today. We get to start eating some real foods...yipee! She wants him to do some PT because he seems to hold his head to one side most of the time. It's nothing major and shouldn't be a big deal but she just wants to make sure it's not connected to the little bump on his neck. He also got five shots (one oral) yesterday. After the first one his entire body became tense, his face turned bright red, and then he screamed. I picked him up after they were done and he looked right at the nurse and just gave her a huge smile. Yup, he's a happy kid. Here's Co-Co's (as his cousins call him) stats:

Weight: 16 lbs. 8.5 oz. (31%)
Head Cir.: 43.6 cm (45%)
Height: 2' 3.5" (84%)

"Tricks"

Cohen is starting to do some new, fun things. He is making spitting sounds with his mouth...he does this all day long and he gets even more drool on himself now too. He wants to start moving real bad but still has a little bit to figure out so he'll just lay on the floor and flail around...looking like he's swimming. The other day he decided to just roll his way around downstairs since he couldn't get around any other way. I caught the very end of it on tape, but you get the idea.

5 Months & A Stinky Skunk

Cohen is now five months old and time is just flying by so quickly! He now likes to sleep on his tummy (he gets that from his mommy) and has even started sleeping with his cute little bottom in the air. He is a little flirt around the ladies (he gets that from his daddy). He loves to stand up and bounce and be in his exersaucer. He is starting to grab everything in sight and loves to grab faces now too. He is a little over 15 lbs (he lost a little bit of weight when he had his ear infection and they determined he has reflux too.)

For Halloween Cohen dressed up as a Skunk!

Fall & Rice Cereal!

Last Saturday we went to Tagawa Garden Center with Mark, Abby, Nolan and Heath. We got to see some animals, watch trains, get tattoos, and decorate pumpkins! I think it was the first of many kiddish things we will do with Cohen...so much fun!

On Saturday, the 16th, we made our first attempt with rice cereal. Cohen wasn't too fond of the rice cereal and hasn't warmed up to it yet...hopefully he will change his mind soon.

COHEN IS 4 MONTHS!!!

Cohen had his 4 month doctor's appointment on September 30. He was 14.6 pounds, Cohen has become very active in the last month and especially the last week. He is rolling over all the time and kicking nonstop. He is really into high-pitched squeals and is starting to laugh more. He just started using his exersaucer the last couple of days and is getting such strong legs. He is getting so big and brings so much joy to our lives. Cohen, we love you so very much and are very thankful for you!

A VISIT FROM BUDDAH AND MANNA!!

My parents came out for a week for my Grandma Schemper's 90th birthday. It was great having them here. Cohen loved hanging out with his Buddah and Manna. We miss them already. Thanks for coming Mom and Dad, we love you.

Since we haven't done the best job on posting videos of Cohen I decided to make a little video of his four months. (I know it's kind of fun for family that lives else where to see videos of Cohen...it makes him seem more real if you haven't met him yet.) It's a little long and might be boring if you don't like to watch him sleep like I do. :) I tried to cut it down as much as possible. Enjoy!
